Being a mom creates balance for me. Without kids, I wouldn’t be able to accomplish what I have in business.

Children have helped raise the bar for myself, and prioritize my time better. It puts a different perspective and standard on things. I strive to be the best version of myself while setting an example for my girls.

I’ve always wanted to be a mom and I’ve always loved business. A mix of both of them is my happy place.

It’s also forced me to grow and delegate and LET GO. I wouldn’t be who I am today without the experience of raising a family in both life and business.

Balance is key – don’t settle for less.

This week I just finished one of my NBR education classes for my mastermind students. It’s crazy to watch the growth my company has had in the last five years. I think sometimes I forget to look back to remind myself of the growth.

I am currently expecting my third little girl, and there will be an eight-year gap between my other two. I always knew I wanted more kids, but just kept saying I need to put one more year in my business – one more and THEN I’ll have another kid.

Time flew by, and the next thing you know both of my kids were in school full-time. Things started to get a little bit easier, and then more time started to pass by.

I had a lot of ups and downs with my husband, and although I wanted more kids I just wasn’t sure it was with him. I realize that sounds a bit harsh, but that’s where I was at… We are now in a good spot in our relationship and I decided I can’t let work hold me back from having more children.

I got married young, and started having babies young, so I definitely still had more time. I get pregnant fairly easily so I think I kept holding off till the last minute to start trying.

At times I get overwhelmed thinking about the direction I want to take things with life and business, but I also know I’m good at balancing my life and figuring out things along the way.

Capacity is a crazy thing.

It doesn’t matter what stage you are in life – there are always things that are going to be scary, hard, overwhelming or make you nervous.

When you push through them your threshold expands increasing your capacity to handle things.

This happens whether you’re a working mother, or not.

Things that used to seem hard now become manageable and almost easy – But this does not mean that we don’t have new experiences that seem scary or unmanageable.

I personally have a little bit of anxiety, and at times this makes me feel like I’m being held hostage. I get so irritated but I force myself into situations that are completely out of my comfort zone so that I feel stronger and in control.

I know it sounds crazy but I think that’s why I’ve experienced a lot of growth in my life.

It’s how you show up under pressure that determines your capacity.

It’s easy to say something as hard or uncomfortable, it’s what you do with those feelings that make a difference.

For all of you mothers out there thinking about having a baby it’s a nine month process and in the end, it seems scary but you really have no other choice you have to push that baby out.

Don’t overthink things. Take it one step at a time. Breath. Your capacity is way bigger than you think.

Balance is key, and prioritizing will help you manage the chaos.

I do hair, and I’m pretty good at it… I love teaching on the skills that I’ve developed and I’m passionate because I’ve become good at them. But it wasn’t without increasing my expansion that I have had the results that I’ve had.
