I don’t even know where to start. I have two kids, and possibly want more. Yet I’m so passionate about my purpose inside of my career.

My husband has his own business, and I have mine. But I’ve always wanted to be a mom. So how do I balance both?

It’s strange. Kids give you purpose, and push you in more ways than one. It actually drives me in my career, but at same time there’s this mommy guilt that we all feel.

Whether you work, or you don’t, it’s all about balance.

I believe that in life, guilt holds us back from our purpose.

So many times I find myself saying, “Don’t do this, you have young kids you just need to focus on being a mom.”

I believe this little voice in my head is merely an excuse. It’s an excuse to not rise to what I feel is possible for myself. Guilt is what hold you back.

But what if you had no guilt? What would hold you back? I’m sure we would all come up with some kind of excuse.

I get so irritated when I feel guilty, because I know it’s sucking energy from me. At the same time I want to be a good mom who is present, and have quality time versus quantity. I used to be stuck in the story that more time equals more connection, and I would feel guilty if working at all.

Then I realized that when I’m working, I’m actually more present and excited to be with them, and feel like I have quality time versus quantity where I would end up feeling like I need a break from being a mom.

In our last hair event we introduced the concept of Core4. This is something my husband has been teaching at his events for the last three years.

High producing people need to find balance in life in order to create a better quality of life. Core4 consists of Body, Being, Balance & Business.

Let’s face it. You can be super successful in business, but if you lack balance in other areas of your life, you may feel unfulfilled.

You could also at the same time be an amazing mom, but if you don’t take time for yourself, and lack purpose in your life, this can also create a lot of chaos.

We tend to focus on one area in our life until we are unbalanced, and then things explode.

Having kids and working has always been a challenge for me, but also help me to find my purpose and be productive with my time.

It goes back to quality time versus quantity. I highly value my time. Therefore, if I’m going to take away time from my kids – You better believe I’m going to consistently increase the value in myself, and be effective with my time at work. This means increasing my skills in both business & marketing, but also in my craft.

If you take anything away from this post it would be to become your best self.

Know your worth, and value your time.

Work hard to create more value in yourself, and create balance so you are constantly moving forward.

Don’t miss this weeks posts – I felt like there was a lot of good inspiration coming through both myself and my team this week…

New Year, New Goals: In yesterday’s post I share with you the importance of setting specific goals that requires you to make changes that ultimately turn you into a better version of yourself, even if that means being extremely uncomfortable at times. In fact, this is when you grow the most. Click here to read more.

Looking Back + Looking Forward: There’s few I know who have the courage to go the distance and make sacrifices like Val has, and it’s been truly amazing to see how much she has grown in the short 2 years that I’ve had the pleasure of working with her.

This post by Val gives you a rare insight into what’s possible to create for yourself if you have a strong enough WHY to push you forward, while at the same time showing you how we sometimes don’t recognize the pains of our own realities until we’ve seen what’s possible for ourselves. This is a MUST read… Click here to read more.

Natural Beaded Rows™ Education: Last week we had our first BMS Convention, with over 170 stylists in the room. Within 10 minutes of the show starting, we had over a dozen hair stylists in tears. So no, this is not your typical hair class. The video inside of this post gives you a sneak peek of what happens during our events. Click here to read more.

And of course, if you love what I’m wearing in today’s post – shop the dress below.
