It’s all about those beach waves!!

As summer comes to an end, it doesn’t mean you can’t rock your beachy locks year round.  Summer takes a toll on your hair and many clients come in feeling brassy and a little dry.

I think this is why many clients come in wanting to go a little bit darker for fall. If you missed our latest YouTube video, we’re talking about cooler weather and cooler tones.

It’s always good to lay off of the lightener ( aka bleach ) when your hair is feeling a little bit dry from all the beach and pool days over the summer.

Instead, transition to lighter pieces around the face and then tone in a low light. This may give you the illusion of a brighter blonde, having that soft  contrast.

Believe it or not, lately, I’ve been really loving a darker base to get rid of some of those  brassy tones on my blondes.

Often times with my NBR Hair Extension clients, when the hair feels a little dry, they make the mistake of putting too much protein into their own hair as well as the NBR Hair Extensions. This causes the hair to actually break down due to overload of protein.

Instead of a heavy mask, simply try switching to a lightweight moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

Or, if you’re going to use a mask, two times per month is plenty.

I also recommend using an Argan oil, daily.

Think about it… throughout the day your skin feels dry, so what do you do?

You put on a little lotion. Your hair can be the same way regardless if you’re not washing it; it still can feel a little dry on the ends, especially if you’re adding heat or curling it each day.

I usually recommend adding in Argan oil ( a dime size amount) two times per day; maybe once in the morning and once at night before you go to bed.

Remember, take care of your hair! It’s all the little things that can totally make a big difference in the overall health of your hair.
