The truth about extensions

The truth about extensions is that do not ruin your hair. However in all my experience I believe anything attached to the hair including clip-ins can be damaging over time. Again my goal was to minimize the damage while stiff creating that fullness I desired.

The less areas you attach to the hair, the less damage will occur.

Understanding that all extensions can be damaging I also face the reality that even if my own hair could grow to the length I wanted, I woul still not be as full or the look I was wanting. So my only options for long hair was extensions.

After wearing extensions for a period of time, I took them out to let my hair breath a little, only to realize it was more work. You see with fine hair, day one of freshly washed hair always looks the best, day 2 is in a pony tail. So I felt in order to make my hair look somewhat decent I had to wash and style every day with a lot of product. With extensions, I could go about 3 days. I also noticed it still looked good on day 2 and 3. Even my pony tail and braids looked better.

Extensions can be an expense, but so can a car payment.

You can’t put a price on how you feel with wearing extensions. You drive your car every day, and you also wear your hair every day. I don’t know about you, but I enjoy nice cars. All the details and extra upgrades you experience in a nice car. It’s hard to go back to something that just gets you from point A to point B.

You don’t have to sit in the salon all day to get extensions. Just because they are an expense, doesn’t mean you need to sit in the chair to get your money’s worth. I don’t know about you, but I have kids a salon, a blog and a lot going on. I would pay more if I knew I could get the result I was wanting in half the time.

Not everyone is a candidate for extensions. In my expirence, some should just be told no. If the hair is too damaged or too short, I would not want to put my name on it, becuase I know the end result would not what I would be happy with. I only take clients I am confident as well as realistic on what the end result will look like.

Extensions have a bad wrap, but if colored placed and cut correctly, you should not be able to tell they are extensions.

Thank you for your YouTube videos on thin hair and extensions, I can’t believe there might be hope with my thin hair. I love extensions but I was one of those people that had to stop wearing them because after so long it tore my hair and was left with very little. I’ve let grow out now but I miss them sooooooo much. It’s just not he same. It’s so sad because I too feel like my clip ons don’t do the best job but that’s what I’ve settled for instead of having nothing. How much do you charge? Do you ever come North of LA at all? Thanks again!
